I am a mother of 2 boys, living near Montreal. My husband and I love to sew together. We take classes together, and he is a Rock Star! He truly is my rock, my inspiration. He had a horrible work place accident and lost 2 fingers. But don't worry, we are back at it sewing. Check back for our projects. They are usually something for the kids, or costumes or fun pieces. Lately we have taken classes on Bras and undergarments.

Sewing project
I just finished my first sewing class at Fabricville. I made 2 skirts. I am very proud of myself for finishing not one but 2 skirts. The first one was during the class, and the second one I made the same skirt on my own at home!
We used pattern Simplicity 2286. I chose view B, with pockets. I made it from cotton. This was part of a 3 week, 6 class sewing course.

Hello! I came over from your PR review of this skirt. Congratulations for the first review and skirt. Oh, and you asked for advice on a serger. I bought a Brother 1034D for about $200 US online at Amazon. I chose it for several reasons : the price was within my budget, you can use regular needles AND regular thread on it. I've read comments about how more expensive models are less noisy and vibrating but I have no complaints there. It's been about 4 years and I'm very happy with it still. Good luck!
